There are many bonuses to having a cord longer than the standard 3 ft cord our apple products come with, making charging in any situation a breeze. As if you haven't been in your own dilemma of mid phone call, phone dying....but you truly can't sit right by an outlet to finish talking, getting ready in the bathroom, the airport, sitting in the backseat, relaxing in bed at night but the outlet is too far away...all are a few situations that make this tiny addition so great! The rope-like/nylon casing makes the product seem more durable for the long haul and that stays wound after quickly winding up and sitting down is exciting. Maybe it is just me, but how as standard plastic cord unwinds and gets tangled in other items when tossed in a bag can be frustrating. It doesn't take up much more space than the stand cord as you can see below. The very first time I plugged in my phone I received the warning that the my device was connected to a product that was not recognized by apple and might not properly charge my device. But it immediately begins charging my phone as soon as plugged in. It charges just as quickly as a standard cord. One thing to note, depending on the type of case you use is that the white part you hold to plug into the phone is wider than the standard cord, so if your case is giant and only provides a small opening - I could see it maybe being an issue.
I did receive this product free/discounted in order to give an honest unbiased review, but am extremely pleased with this product. I would recommend and would purchase this product full price again. This product really would make a great man's gift as my husband was definitely interested in having one of his own.
