Coupon pouch....

LOVE IT? Canvas, material, cute trim, the flower I made from an internet flower tutorial......

Bringing back the shower cap!

Spent plenty of time straightening your hair and hate for the moist air in the shower to make it frizzy or damp???? Not anymore! Not with the shower cap!

I know many more of you ladies than would admit, actually hide your hideous shower cap you've inherited from a hotel or the like, underneath the counter so than no one will know your shower cap secret.....well never again....

You can be loud and proud and stylish and have dry hair with a cap like this!!!

Thin plastic, binding, cute material cut in a circle, elastic and some time and wha-la! The best shower cap EVER!!!

Bibs, Burpcloths, & Bag

Made these for my sweet friend Christine's baby bundle of Joy, Brielle! A wipee/diaper holder, a bag, 2 bibs and 2 burpcloths.....these were all from two little kits from Joanns. The pieces have to be cut and sewn from one solid sheet. EASY, FUN, and CUTE CUTE CUTE!!!

Paint Class

Thank you Groupon for the paint class! We love our Rooster paintings!!!!!!

Baylor Blanket....

It is a blanket, it is a snuggie, no wait it is a Snug-et! You can sit real close to your baby and watch a football game in style!
Happy Jeff, Mr. Baylor as we call him......

EAT YOUR HEART OUT JULIA CHILDS......

My first apron..... needed because I make a complete mess when I cook. Classy because I normally have a t-shirt and shorts on when I cook. Now a new and improved cooking look....

Confession- it was one of those kits, BUT I still had to sew it together! AND since I had a 40% off coupon this kit was way cheaper than buying the material, etc. separately.

Tindell's Dog Bed

No...... Tindell doesn't sleep on a dogbed! This was Tindell's 'learn to sew' project that actually led to the purchasing of her very first sewing machine. She did a great job and her design is very cute! If want to make your very own precious puppy something similar you should cut two squares of matching material and either 4 or two long strips that match up with the sides. They can be as wide as you want the bed to be, ie wider if you wanted Fluffy to have a super thick and fluffy bed. Tindell bought one square of foam from the craft store, then use pillow stuffing also from a craft store (tear open old pillows to save money esp since it is for a dog). Sew the strips to one square all the way around and all but one side of the second square. Add the foam and stuff and then fold and sew the end. Viola! Puppy has its own bed....

Bender Cake

Here's Bender. This is a cake I made for the UW auction at work. Bender is from the cartoon called Futurama. Grey is SUCH a hard color to try to make fondant! All the craft stores I searched did not have gray icing color, only black. And naturally one would think that black and white make gray.... Well no, in the case of icing coloring... black and white make purple. The cake fondant in person looked purple until I painted it with silver fondant dust. I was paranoid that it still looked purple, but thankfully in this picture, Bender looks gray! I should have made his head taller so that part of his mouth did not have to be on the cake board and he would have looked more like his cartoon self. I did not do this because I was afraid of toppling. Stacked cake can get pretty heavy...especially mine.

Aggie Dresses

Here are two other t-shirt Aggie dresses I made. Model on the left - is none other then my Georgian bff Tindell. Her dress is actually not made from a t-shirt at all. Now that I think about it. I used black knit for the top and cut out ATM out of white knit. I then ironed on rhinestones around the letters. I made the bottom out of maroon jersey. My dress is made out of a t-shirt and white knit on the bottom.

Aggie Football season 2009 I noticed all these CUTE dresses that girls, (college aged or women...not three year olds...i'm not a creeper) had on and had an incredible urge to re-learn to sew and make myself one! SEW...lol ....So I took a sewing class with my friend Ann (side note...was already a fantastic seamstress, but am so thankful for the time with her!). I re-learned some basics...except pattern sewing. (I was indeed the only one in the class, just sewing my idea.) That will come soon enough, because haven't crooked and uneven sides is becoming old.
Here is a dress I made from a pink t-shirt that had 'aggies' in zebra print. I added the bottom out of black jersey, and a ruffle and a tie out of zebra material. All so I could wear pink to the first Aggie game of the season!

Monoply Cake

I made this cake for a game night with our Sunday School Core Group. Matt actually was trying to be sarcastic in what him and I would bring for the party and said that I would be making a monoply cake..... so dared as I was....I did! Alas did this creation come forth out of the fondant and hours of work. Perfect? Absolutely not....can you see I had no IDEA how to even begin to make a railroad sign...so we have X's. BUT indeed it was fun and a challenge.

Toilet Cake

So I have to begin this journey somewhere.....not the most appetizing of cakes but this is a picture of a toilet cake I made. So for those of us - NON aggies that have never heard of a Toilet Party..... which just so happens to be a boy pre-marriage party equivalent to a shower where he receives tools or gifts just for him. I made this for my husband's best friend/cousin whom he threw a toilet for.
I made this cake in April of 2010. I actually learned how to make fondant for this cake. I used bread pans to make cake loafs that I stacked in the back to make the tank. I then used an oven to table bowl to make the bottom of the bowl and just a regular round cake pan that I cut the center and front out of to make the lid.
Once I covered everything with white fondant, I used yellow icing at the top of the bowl and then covered it with yellow gel, aka "pee". I used slightly melted tootsie rolls to make the "poop".
Being my first test with fondant, this was a very rough cake, but enough so that it properly looks like an old toilet from some run-down apartment.....PERFECT for a guy!
