Review overload here but wanted to let you know the health benefits and uses of all the ingredients found in your bottle of #ExtraFitBody Detox supplement. I like to say I'm conscientious of the foods and products I put in my body, but then what about the mindless eating of the oreos that I had this weekend? Some of the ingredients I HAVE NO IDEA the benefit, because well there isn't! So yes we need to stay aware and not take things that will harm our bodies and I know people who are extremely leery of using any product that hasn't been evaluated by the FDA (but please see the note below why supplements do not need to have approval from the FDA unless they have a "new dietary supplement")
-
NOTE ON FDA APPROVAL
In October 1994, the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act (DSHEA) was signed into law by President Clinton. Before this time, dietary supplements were subject to the same regulatory requirements as were other foods. This new law, which amended the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, created a new regulatory framework for the safety and labeling of dietary supplements.Under DSHEA, a firm is responsible for determining that the dietary supplements it manufactures or distributes are safe and that any representations or claims made about them are substantiated by adequate evidence to show that they are not false or misleading. This means that dietary supplements do not need approval from FDA before they are marketed. Except in the case of a new dietary ingredient, where pre-market review for safety data and other information is required by law, a firm does not have to provide FDA with the evidence it relies on to substantiate safety or effectiveness before or after it markets its products. Also, manufacturers need to register themselves pursuant to the Bioterrorism Act with FDA before producing or selling supplements. June, 2007, FDA published comprehensive regulations for Current Good Manufacturing Practices for those who manufacture, package or hold dietary supplement products. These regulations focus on practices that ensure the identity, purity, quality, strength and composition of dietary supplements.

Here is a breakdown of what all the benefits from each ingredient:
Aloe vera is generally known for its soothing, skin healing properties. However, aloe can also be be used in a myriad of other ways. Health benefits include: Soothes and helps reduce irritation in the digestive tract. Cascara sagrada is a natural laxative made from the reddish-brown bark of a tree (Rhamnus purshiana) native to western North America. Apple fruit pectin is a complex carbohydrate, a soluble fiber found in the walls of plant cells. People take slippery elm for coughs, sore throat, colic, diarrhea, constipation, hemorrhoids, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), bladder and urinary tract infections, syphilis, herpes, and for expelling tapeworms. Fennel has long been used as a remedy for flatulence and indigestion in traditional medicines. Cayenne Pepper helps digestion, provides detox support, supports weight loss, boosts metabolism and works as an anti-irritant. Garlic also has anti-inflammatory benefits. Additionally, garlic is an excellent source of manganese and vitamin B6 and a very good source of vitamin C and copper. Barberry root contains many health benefits for antifungal, antibacterial, antioxidant activity and more to treat internal and external conditions. The benefits of wormwood are not limited to its efficacy against harmful organisms. The proven basis for the beneficial effects of artichoke leaf extract on the gastrointestinal system is the promotion of bile flow. Traditionally, yellow dock root has been thought to be a blood purifier and general detoxifier, especially for the liver. It also stimulates bile production, which helps digestion, particularly of fats. Ginger has a long history of use for relieving digestive problems such as nausea, loss of appetite, motion sickness and pain. Magnesium stearate has natural lubricant properties, something very important to the quality in how vitamins are produced. Silicon dioxide (SiO2) in food is very important for normal development of bones. Silicon dioxide, also referred as silica, is necessary to maintain healthy skin, hair, and nails. Rice flour is an insoluble fiber, the substance that helps waste material move through the intestines, and is gluten free. Gelatin benefits include improvement of gut health and digestion.
No one can eat healthy 100 % of the time and feeling "weighted" down by what we eat and poor digestion can cause us to feel sluggish and bloated. No crazy smells or indigestion from taking. I felt like the this product worked efficiently (no TMI here) without any digestion pains or discomfort. Works best if used with lots of water. Thank you to #ExtraFitBody for giving me the opportunity to receive this product at a discount in exchange for my honest unbiased review.
