Sprucebay Insulated Picnic Carrier Review

I have been eyeing something like this for quite some time, so I squealed at the opportunity from Aspenbox to receive this Sprucebay #picnicbasket at a discount! My research included insulated casserole carriers and such but never thought of a picnic basket! Even then, I am sometimes hesitant to purchase things "i think" will work online, (generally to receive and find out the material or dimensions were not what you thought) but I have been coming up short for months by looking in the stores as well! I have been wanting something to gift my BFF so she can take her many hot or cold breakfast items she takes to her class on Sundays, but something also for myself to either travel with large dishes to share at events or my little ones on a picnic! This basket fits both needs. It is water proof, leak proof, wipeable and well insulated. It has sturdy handles that are attached to a frame built right into the top part of the basket, which means if you put really really heavy
casseroles in there the handles aren't going to fly off and shatter your hard work. I show the basket in the pics below with my 9x13 metal pan that has a lid. I had to turn it a bit sideways to move past the metal frame but after that it fits completely flat in the bottom! Look at all the room on top of that pan as well! There are wire supports to allow you to push down to support the basket from folding in. Just as it states in the heading, it is collapsible so you can save on storage space. It doesn't take up much more space than my 9x13 pan as pictured. Because of the lid's rounded shape and the way the fabric seam of the insulation meets the zipper, it makes the zipper a bit tougher to zip. For me I had to get out of my head that I could close with one hand and use the other to guide the inside seam from getting in the way of the zipper. NOT a deal breaker here. Just the only somewhat critical thing I could find to say. Curved zippers are usually always tricky, even on sturdy suitcases. Super excited to embroider a personalized patch to go on the front for my dear friend (which I will glue on...not going to poke through that insulation..no thank you!), and can't wait to hear how much she loves it! Then will be finding the cushion space in the budget for extras to get myself one!
